Alistair Wannop is appointed Board representative for engagement with the Group's 1,100 strong workforce
Carr's (CARR.L), the Agriculture and Engineering Group, announces that, in line with the UK Corporate Governance Code, Alistair Wannop, Non-Executive Director (NED), has been appointed Board Representative for Employee Engagement. He will continue to be a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations committees.
Prior to joining Carr's Group as a NED, Alistair chaired both the County NFU and the Northern regional advisory panel for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Alistair also served on the Board of English Food and Farming Partnerships. The Board believes that Alistair's extensive experience and knowledge of the Group ideally places him in a position to ensure that the views of the wider workforce are fully understood by the Board, and that such views are considered as part of the Board's decision-making process.
Chris Holmes, Chairman of Carr's Group, commented: "One of the key pillars of the Group's overall strategic vision is to invest in our people. Developing the key talent that will help to shape the direction of the business over the next ten years is critical to our ongoing success. Alistair's appointment formalises a practice that we have been applying for a long time now - namely, ensuring that our employees feel part of the Group, embrace its culture and are able to support the Group as it continues to grow."
Alistair Wannop, Board Representative for Employee Engagement, said: "I am delighted to be taking on this new role. Our employees are front and centre to the long term success of the Group and it is right and proper to be taking account of their interests at Board level. Carr's has always prided itself on its close engagement with its employees and I look forward to working on their behalf to strengthen this through the creation of this specific role."
